The Forest City Service Center opened six years ago through the generosity of John and Carol Kameen.  Longtime residents and owners of the local newspaper, John and Carol donated space for the center.  The operation depends on community volunteers to provide Salvation Army services to the community.  Volunteers are at work providing emergency financial assistance,, advocacy, spiritual support, social services and a food pantry to those in need…and HOPE to a community hit hard by economic shifts.  “We are so encouraged by The Salvation Army’s interest in helping those in need in our community,” says John and Carol.  “What is key are volunteers and financial resources to help.”
