The doors to The Salvation Army Glenmoore Food Pantry in rural Chester County open every Friday to more than 70 families seeking food assistance.  Martha who is a single mother of three daughters was laid off from her job in healthcare seven years ago.  Volunteers at the Food Pantry helped provide her with food and fuel assistance as well as gifts for her children at Christmas, until she was able to get back on her feet.  Martha stills visits the Food pantry every week, but now she is a volunteer.  “The volunteers are mindful of people’s needs beyond just needing food.  You can tell they strive to do their very best because it’s something they really believe in and they do from their hearts,” said Martha.  “Needing help doesn’t have to be a shameful thing, it can be a blessing.”
