Social Services
46.7 million Americans live below the poverty line. 60 million more live one crisis away.
Sadly, children raised in poverty are 32% more likely to remain there than their more fortunate peers.
Food
We have an emergency food pantry available for those who live in our service area. Because each town has a monthly pantry for residents, our pantry is only available to be used once every 90 days per household. If you are in need of a monthly pantry Milton residents can use The HandUp Foundation, Lewisburg Residents would go to First Baptist Church on the corner of Third and St. Louis Streets, and Watsontown residents would go to Neighbors helping Neighbors at the Delaware Township building.
Utilities
We help with electric and gas bills that are in jeopardy of being terminated. We have a $200 maximum that we help with for any utility and assistance can be provided one time per year for each household. In order to apply for assistance with a utility you must be able to provide one months income, your most recent utility bill, your shut off notice, and a valid photo identification.
Fuel/Heating
We help with heating oil or propane from November 1 - March 31. In order to receive help for heat you must apply through your County Assistance Office for the LIHEAP Program first and have used that assistance. In order to apply for heating assistance you must provide a valid photo identification, proof of one months income, your LIHEAP acceptance or denial letter from the assistance office, and the name, address, and phone number for the company you use for heat.
Rent
We help with rent for those in our service area who are in jeopardy of being evicted from their home. We can help with up to $200 to keep you in the home you are currently living in. We DO NOT assist with first months rent or security deposits. In order to receive assistance with rent you would need to provide a valid photo identification, proof of one months income, an eviction notice from your landlord, and a copy of your lease.
