Bread to Blessing
The Salvation Army of Coatesville serves lunch on the second Friday of each month at 12:00 pm at 669 East Lincoln Highway. It is a hot meal including a main dish, sides and dessert. Take outs are optional and based on number of attendees. All are welcome.
Bread to Bread
Through donations from varies organizations/companies every week on Thursday at 10:30 am - 12:00 pm we open our doors to anyone in the Coatesville Community to a self-grab supermarket shopping experience. Food varies from cans to fresh vegetables and frozen goods. It is a first come first serve system. All are welcome to attend.
Clothing vouchers are provided based on need and residency in the Coatesville community. They are redeemable in The Salvation Army Thrift store in West Chester on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. You will need to set an appointment with our Case manager to apply for a voucher. Must bring photo identification and proof of residency. This service is only available once a year per person.
Emergency Food Boxes (Food Pantry Service)
Food insecurity and hunger are still a harsh reality for many struggling families in Coatesville and to ensure local families are able to have food, The Salvation Army of Coatesville gives Emergency Food Boxes to those in need. Our emergency food boxes service is under our Social Service office and you will have an in-person interview, after filling out a few forms and must bring photo identification and proof of residency. This service is available every 6 months per person.
Prescription vouchers are provided based on need and residency in the Coatesville community. They are redeemable in the Walgreen on 800 East Lincoln Hwy. We do not fill narcotic or controlled substance prescriptions. You must first go to the Walgreens to receive a valid quote on the cost of the prescription and present the quote and photo identification for us to consider you for assistance. Our maximum voucher is $50.00 per client.
PRO-ACT (Ambassadors for Recovery)
The Salvation Army of Coatesville has partnered with PRO-ACT, allowing PRO-ACT to use our location for meeting to be held a weekly meeting on Thursday at 6:00 pm. PRO-ACT works to reduce the stigma of addiction, ensure the availability of adequate treatment and recovery support services, and to influence public opinion and policy regarding the value of recovery.
The Salvation Army of Coatesville offers rental assistance to those living in Coatesville. To qualify, you must provide the following information: photo identification and proof of residency. This assistance is available once per year per household. Please call to schedule an appointment with Social Services.
The Salvation Army of Coatesville is able to provide assistance with electric, heating oil, water and gas utility bills. To qualify, you must reside in the following zip codes and provide the following information: photo identification and proof of residency. This assistance is available once per year per household. Please call to schedule an appointment with Social Services.
The Salvation Army has relationships with several community agencies, and we are happy to make referrals on your behalf. In addition to the referral, we will offer any additional social services within our programs as well (i.e. pantry, vouchers, etc.). Please feel free to call for referrals regarding shelter (City Gates), job training, Domestic Violence, Legal Aid, Maternal Child and Health Consortium, job opportunities (ARP) and substance abuse.
