Fostering Children

"People ask me all the time, 'aren't you scared you'll get too attached to the kids that you foster?' I assure them that I sure hope I do." - Megan Steinruck, Foster Parent.

There is an enormous need for families like you to become foster parents to children in need of a temporary home. These children, often victims of troubled families, need a period of separation from their biological families. Foster parents offer a caring and nurturing home for a child, giving the biological family the opportunity to rebuild their lives.

As a foster parent with our program you can expect to receive support from caring and compassionate staff of The Salvation Army Children's Services, excellent training and compensation for the child’s care. We are committed to providing the best possible care for every child and every family in our program.

Taking that first step toward becoming a foster parent can be a little overwhelming so we will make sure that you receive the support you deserve to help you feel confident about your new role as a foster parent. When you make the decision to foster children, we will be with you every step of the way.

There are many children in your community in need of a loving home so please consider opening your heart and home to one of them. Contact us today to get started.
