Williamsport, PA – For the past 11 years, The Salvation Army in Williamsport has hosted a Festival of Trees -- a Christmas fundraiser to support the many programs and services provided by The Salvation Army, such as the year round food pantry, various senior citizen and youth programs, and Christmas assistance.

Hosted at the Lycoming Mall and sponsored by both the mall and Backyard Broadcast, 50 Christmas trees are decorated by local businesses and organizations and displayed at the mall for three weeks. Mall guests vote for their favorite tree by making a $1 donation.

Additionally, the participating businesses and organizations can provide the option to vote at their location. The group earning the most votes, receives the People's Choice Award. Then, at a live auction, the tree that raises the most money receives the "Best Overall Tree" award.

The Salvation Army Festival of Trees allows the public to view beautifully decorated trees each Christmas, affords local organizations the opportunity to give back, amd provides valuable support for the programs provided by The Salvation Army.
